What are the consequences of a DUI for a 19 year old.?
My little brother, 19 yrs old, got pulled over after having a beer in Orange County, California and had an open container in his car. He is now detained and will b out in about 2 hours. What are the consequences? Will he need a lawyer? Will his license be suspeneded? And for how long? He’s a truck driver and he depends on it. How long will it stay on his record? Thanx for the feedback everyone.
How much trouble he is in depends upon his blood alcohol level, but he is in severe trouble anyway, because any alcohol conviction for a person under 21 can result in a 1 year license suspension. Given the impact that will have on his employment, he should certainly have a lawyer.
