DUI court day Wednesday what to expect?
I got a DUI on February 14 this year. got pulled over for not having my headlights on. took all the sobriety test and passed took the breathalyzer and blew a .10 got arrested for it they didnt take the car left it parked at a lot. Spent about 12 hours there till i got released. Now i have court on Wednesday what should i expect in Fines? fees? jail time? its my first ever offense!! This happened in Hollywood california i have court in Van nuys. I spoke to a lawyer but he adviced me that it would cost me to much and he would do what i can do for myself which is plea guilty. Now i just wanna know what to expect. I already know my license is suspended for 4 months and my insurance is going to hell. I do take full responsibility for what i did and plan on paying for it,
You received horrible advice, seriously. It’s an arraignment. “I” would plead not guilty, and if “I” could not afford a lawyer, “I’d” petition for a public defender.
Highly unlikely, but you could be sentenced up to a year in Jail and $10000 fine. Paying for a lawyer is part of the process.
